What Is a Landing Page and How to Create One
If your goal for your website is to maximize the results of your digital strategy and generate more leads for your sales team, you need to know what a Landing Page is. A Landing Page is simply the English term for a destination page. The word landing means to arrive at a destination. In other words, it is where you direct a user to learn about a particular topic and generate a conversion.

Why is it important to use a Landing Page?

In digital marketing strategies, landing pages usually receive more visits than any other pages on a website. As everyone knows, Google always points users to the page with the most relevant content for their search. This type of result is directly linked to the SEO work done on the Landing Page, which has become an authority on the topic being searched for on a particular website. Landing Pages are designed to ask users to fill out a short form to access exclusive material on a particular topic, with a special prompt (Call to Action). This type of material is commonly called a lead magnet. In short, if your main goal is to generate leads, creating a Landing Page is one of the best strategies to adopt.

What a Landing Page consists of

In general, a Landing Page consists of 3 (three) basic elements:
  • Offer: The offer is what the company provides in exchange for the user’s valuable information. Offers need to be original and created by the company, with the goal of increasing visitors’ purchase readiness and helping them progress through the sales funnel. This type of strategy is widely used in Inbound Marketing.
  • Form: An essential part of the Landing Page. After all, without a form, we have no way to collect our users’ information and turn them into potential leads. Form fields are determined by each strategy and need to be planned carefully.
  • Call to Action (CTA): Also known as a CTA, this tells users what they will get by filling out the form: download a file, submit a request, watch a video, read an entire article, and more. It is the finishing touch that completes the conversion on your landing page.

Tips for creating a successful Landing Page

  • Set a clear goal: Your Landing Page needs to have a single objective and a very clear proposition. In other words, what first impression will it make on a new visitor? Did they understand and find what they expected when they visited the page?
  • Choose a strong Call to Action: Use compelling phrases such as “Download now,” “Buy now,” or “Sign up”;
  • Keep your copy focused: Both the title and description need to be compelling so users understand what your Landing Page is about and what they will get by sharing their information. However, avoid overly long copy to prevent distracting users;
  • Don’t overdo it with form fields. Use smart marketing automation platforms that collect new information with each user interaction and add it to your CRM.
